We’ve now added a new section to the website to cover licensing, so if you’re interested in using one of our tracks commercially it has never been easier to do. Our licensing page provides details of what you can and cannot do with our music, and also gives links to our Jamendo pages where commercial licences for selected tracks are available to purchase. We have also provided a form for you to complete to request a licence for any of our tracks, which allows you to specify what you want to use our music for, so that we can point you in the right direction to suit your needs.
Dave Kent’s live podcast, originally broadcast in January, is now available to download from our podcasts page. Dave’s podcast features over 40 minutes of acid, house and breakbeat tracks from 2000 to the present day seamlessly blended together in Dave’s own unique way.
Aerologic presents two new pumping electro trance tracks in our first release of the year, out today. Electronaut features some warm, uplifting synth pads and stabs along with a catchy, sliding electronic lead against a backdrop of pumping house rhythms and dirty bass. Icicles is an atmospheric trance track which builds up with infectious chord patterns and breaks into lush pads with vocal effects. Grab them now from the release page.
We’ll be restreaming Dave Kent’s live mix shortly over at http://mixlr.com/toucanmusic/. Join us for the broadcast starting at 8.30pm UTC / GMT!
Coming on 23rd January is the first of several exciting live online events we’re doing this year. Dave Kent will be streaming a live podcast of acid, breaks and funky house for your enjoyment starting at 8pm GMT / UTC. The stream will be available live here on the front page of the Toucan Music website. Don’t miss it… but if you do, don’t worry, we’ll also be recording the mix.
Happy new year! The figures are in and we can confirm that Risey topped our download chart for 2012 with his tune Memories of Thailand (the Beat Doctor remix). Risey‘s track was released back in 2007 and was our 4th most popular that year, but hasn’t featured in the chart since and has made a remarkable comeback after featuring on our Free Music Archive compilation and several high profile web videos over the last year. In second place, Psychadelik Pedestrian‘s Coral Reef has shot up the chart from being at number 20 in 2011 after also receiving exposure on YouTube. Psychadelik Pedestrian was also the most downloaded artist overall, with Redmann following in second place.
In 2012, we had a record 156,672 downloads, and this doesn’t include figures for all external websites. Thanks to everyone for listening to our music and help us to keep the vibe alive in 2013!
You can view the full chart for 2012 and previous years here.
A new compilation of 19 Toucan Music tracks is now available at the Free Music Archive. The compilation showcases some of our best single releases over the last decade and covers a wide variety of styles including house, trance, chillout and breakbeat. Many of the older tracks have been remastered exclusively for the compilation, which is available here.
Dave Kent’s new E.P. is released today with two new acid house tracks. Download them from the release page here under a Creative Commons licence!
Psychadelik Pedestrian returns with two brand new downtempo tracks today, his first since the Transient LP. The first, Cosmos, begins with tingling arpeggio synth patterns and slowly builds to a crescendo, finishing with a rhythmic, reverberating drum pattern. Pacific is a downtempo instrumental track built around soaring pads in a similar style to previous chillout favourites Night Beach and Coral Reef. Both tracks are available from the release page here.
