The News Archive contains Toucan Music news items from dating back to 27th December 1999, which is when our first MP3 track downloads went live. Please note that as these news items are not current, links have been deactivated. Toucan Music was known as Frantik Music before 1st January 2004.

[27-Dec-1999] FRANTIK LAUNCHES ONLINE MUSIC INITIATIVE
Frantik have had a website presence since 1997, but in December the online
music initiative was launched, making Frantik tracks more widely available
to the public.
Previously, web users have only been able to view news, and listen to
small clips of the music online. Now, thanks to the latest MP3 technology
and online music websites such as MP3.com and Vitaminic, anyone with
access to the internet can download complete, almost CD quality tracks;
and even buy our CDs online.
The archive of complete Frantik tracks online has been expanding since
December. It is hoped most of our material will be available to download
free or buy directly online by the end of 2000.
