11 December 2009New two track JMD trance release

In our new release today, JMD presents two full length trance tracks. 'Jet Stream' features euphoric chord melodies and riffs, combined with lush pads, throbbing bassline and pumping house beats. 'Starscape' is a classic trance influenced track, including an uplifting trance synth riff, bouncy beats and a large pad breakdown in the middle. As usual, both tracks are free to download from our release page and re-use under a Creative Commons licence, making them ideal to include in your DJ mixes! 20 November 2009Redmann returns with new E.P.

Redmann presents a trio of religious-themed tracks in this E.P. release new today, all influenced by old hymn tunes. First up is 'Peace', an instrumental downtempo / chillout track with large trip-hop beats, a moving piano riff and orchestral strings. 'Let There Be' combines house beats and throbbing sidechained bass with arpeggio synths. 'Friend' retains the uptempo, house sound and adds more of an electro feel. All three tracks are free to download in full high quality MP3 format.

7 November 2009New Remixes

Our latest release out today features three remixes of Marc Burt tracks. First up Marc remixes his own track "Last Flight Home", keeping the haunting progressive trance style of the original while introducing more lush pads and bouncing synth patterns. Psychadelik Pedestrian remixes "Pioneers" in a breaks style with rolling breakbeats and a slightly darker bassline while keeping the acid riffs and effects. Finally, "Exodus" is given the Beat Doctor treatment, with electro house beats and stuttering old-skool rave style arpeggios. All tracks are full length, free downloads in high quality mp3 format. 20 October 2009New Trance Release

Our new release today celebrates the tenth anniversary of two classic trance tracks from Hyperterminal. First produced in March 1999, "Thirty One" was the debut Hyperterminal track and defined the trademark synth driven Hyperterminal sound. It was "Seeking You", produced in September 1999 and released online in December, that slowly brought Hyperterminal recognition and led to a record deal. Ten years on, and the tracks have been remade in a contemporary, upfront tech-trance style with thumping rhythms, bouncy tech bass and soaring trance synths and arpeggios. Both tracks as usual are full length and completely free to download under a Creative Commons licence. sea.envy, a.k.a. Clayton Brooks, is better known for his netlabel mixes but here he has joined Toucan Music to release two of his own dancefloor-filling trance tracks. "Excerpt From The Rift" is brooding, hard trance with building synth riffs and 303-style acid sounds while "Dawn Of Time" is a melodic, uplifting trance track with an infectious tune. JMD remakes "Tribal Echo" in an energetic, melodic trance style with soaring synths, bouncy kick drum and pumping rhythms. Beat Doctor remixes "House Trancefusion" in an electro house style, with stuttering beats, huge distorted kick drums, reverberating sidechained synths and effects. 2 January 2009Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! The Toucan annual charts for 2008 have been compiled, and we can reveal that in 2008 we had a massive total of 128,854 downloads - smashing our previous record of 80,287 set during 2007 - so a huge thank you to all of you out there who've been listening to the music. The large increase in direct downloads from the Toucan site had meant some big changes in our download chart this time around - Dreamworld's "Feel The Power" comes in at the top, with tracks from Phish Funk, Redmann, Beat Doctor, Psychadelik Pedestrian and Marc Burt also featuring in the top ten.

Most of our preview plays still come from external sites, and our previews chart reflects this with tracks from Risey a.k.a. DJ Rise and Dreamworld, our most popular artists on Music.Download.com, dominating and Risey's "Memories Of Thailand" at top spot. The percentage chart always throws up a few surprises and this year JMD is in pole position with "On Target".
