7 December 2011 Remixes of By The Water released

Our latest free release, out today, features two remixes of Space Invaderz and Psychadelik Pedestrian track By The Water. First up is a brand new progressive trance remix by Aerologic which adds haunting pads and rhythmic synths the melodic arpeggios featured in the original, and builds to a crescendo before breaking down with the tune and finally bringing in the hard synth stab patterns from the original. The second remix is a remastered version of the JMD hard trance remix originally released in 2005 as one of our Premium releases, and now available free of charge under a Creative Commons licence for the first time. 15 November 2011 New Psychadelik Pedestrian album available

Psychadelik Pedestrian's second feature length album is now available to download. The album features a blend of brand new material and some of Psychadelik Pedestrian's best tracks over the last couple of years, showcasing 10 dubstep, electronica, chillout and breaks tracks including some featuring full vocals from guest vocalists at CCMixter. 15 August 2011 Some small website improvements!

Just a quick update to announce some minor improvements to the Toucan site...
Firstly, our artist pages have been improved and now show the rating of each artist's releases, along with a quicker summary and a more obvious link to each release page.
Secondly, you'll notice we've finally added track, mix and artist names to our audio player, so you should know exactly what track you're streaming before you choose to download it!

19 July 2011 Psychadelik Pedestrian exclusive on CCMixter

An exclusive preview track from the forthcoming second album from Psychadelik Pedestrian is now available to download at CCMixter. Featuring beautiful vocals taken from Snowflake, Upside Down is one of today's featured tracks on the site. The album is intended to continue where 2008's self-titled album left off, and will include remastered versions and remixes of some of Psychadelik Pedestrian's more recent tracks, plus some new material. Watch this space for further info!

It's always great to see innovative uses for Toucan tracks, most of which are available for reuse under a Creative Commons licence. Check out this awesome timelapse video by Alex Cherney, which makes effective use of Redmann's Born Into It as background music...

23 May 2011New release from Redmann

Redmann is back with remixes of tracks from his 2008 God In The Detail E.P., retaining the synthesized feel but changing the style and tempo of the tracks. In his chillout remix of Plasma, Redmann drops the pace and adds deep downtempo rhythms while the original synths play the tune at half speed. For his remix of Solar Rush, Redmann pushes up the tempo and reworks the haunting pads and lead into an uplifting house track. JMD provides a bonus melodic trance remix of Force Of Nature, retaining the original tune and adding lush reverb and bouncy synth stabs.As usual, all the remixes are available in full length high quality MP3 format with free downloads. After an extended break, we're back later this month with our first new free release of the year. For this latest release, Redmann reworks tracks from his popular God In The Detail E.P. with a bonus remix from JMD. Look out for it on 23rd May!

2 January 2011Beat Doctor tops the 2010 chart

Happy New Year from Toucan Music! Our annual download chart for 2010 is now available. Beat Doctor's Anaconda was the most downloaded Toucan track of the year, pipping the 2009 favourite Prismattack into second place - the first time since 2007 that a hardcore track hasn't topped the chart. Joining the more recent tracks in the top 20 are some older tracks from Psychadelik Pedestrian's album - One Five Eight and Night Beach - and also two mixes of Marc Burt's Turbulence, which was originally released back in 2003 and re-released in 2008, and makes the chart for the third successive year.
With streaming previews live on the website throughout the whole of 2010, this year's chart should be a more accurate reflection of the most popular tracks rather than those which have just had the most exposure.
